Steps to Release Your Stress

Sharing is Loving

I created a ten-minute YouTube video on steps to release your stress. Most of what I shared is below…in my own words. I am curious if my approach works for you or whether a slightly snappier version edited by Ai works better? I will send the Ai version out next week.

I ask this question because at least one person said they prefer ‘my authentic voice’ rather than Mr. Ai. Get back to me with your point of view. Thanks!

Are You a Stressed-Out Woman? Recognize the Signs

Are you a stressed out woman? Do you feel like your body betrayed you? Are you feeling tension, headaches, sleeplessness, heart palpitations, gut issues? If you’re having these kinds of issues, know that stress is not going to go away unless you begin to take small steps to reduce it.

And I have to tell you that stress, if it continues chronically, can lead to illness. In Chinese medicine, chronic stress is the cause of all illness. Because when your stress hormones are activated continually, You are on stress alert all the time. And if you’re on that kind of vigilance, You’re not getting any recuperation. You’re not getting recharged.

Kyra’s Solutions

Hi, I’m Kyra, Kyra Rosalind Lober, the creator of body being and heart healing for body and spirit. It’s a body-centred path to wellness. And I’m here today to give you some solutions. And even some easy to do activities that can help in this very moment to alleviate your stress.

Your stress is not going to go away unless you have a way to do that, and maybe you’ve tried different ways, and maybe they haven’t stuck. But the way I share is a way of embodying the solutions in your body.

Start With a Body Memory Relaxation Exercise

So let’s start with a really easy to do activity. I’d like you to remember a moment when You felt relaxed and easy. Perhaps it was a vacation. Perhaps it was in a yoga class or a qigong class? Or maybe it was a meditation?

Whatever that was, I want you to take a moment and remember. Yes, I want you to take a moment and remember. And feel that relaxation in your body.

Your Body Records Stress — and Can Release It

I have to tell you a little secret. Your body records everything. And that means your joys, your sorrows, your anxiousness, whatever, it’s all stuck, embedded, embedded. And it’s important that you embody all of who you are. And also we can alleviate those stresses. Stucknesses.

So take a moment right now and feel that relaxation you felt on your vacation. Feel that relaxation you felt in your yoga class or after your yoga class. Feel that energy you felt in your qigong class. Feel it right now. Yes, that is also you, and you can remember it whenever you want.

So standing at a bus stop, stuck in traffic, remember the joys. And this too will help you alleviate that chronic stress.

One of the things you need to learn in the process of healing is patience. It takes a while and you need to allow yourself to have time to nurture yourself.

And women are very special in that sometimes what they need is not to be in action, doing things. That’s really a man kind of thing.

It helps, you know, I mean, it helps if you are physically active to relax the hamster mind. But it is also for a woman; it helps if you do nothing. Like read a book. And I have a book for you. The Adventures of Alice Wonderbar, a spiritual romantic fantasy available on Amazon, by the way. Or you can even download my Anxious Woman book. Yes, it’s on Amazon too, but you can also get my free stress buster strategies. All of these things can help you relax. Never mind coming for a session.

Regulate Your Nervous System With Vagus Nerve Breathing

Another way that you can relax, and this is about down regulating your nervous system, to rub your hands together, get them good and warm, and then put them on your lower abdomen. The vagus nerve stimulates stress hormones. And wanders around your body. It’s called the vagus nerve because it’s a vagrant and it wanders around your body, creating those tensions, stress hormones and heart palpitations. But it ends in your gut brain. And that is why you put your hands on your lower abdomen

Also, your gut brain has more neurons than your brain. So what do you want to do? I just take a very deep breath. And let it out, yeah. The out breath is even more important than the in breath. And when you take those breaths for a bit.

Your breath when you take slow, deep breaths will come into sync with your parasympathetic nervous system, the system of rest and digest.

So, this is what I can suggest for you. These are the things which will help you. And this breathing thing, you can do it anywhere. You don’t have to even put your hands on your belly. No one will notice that you’re breathing into your lower abdomen and allowing relaxation to travel through your body.

Why Physical Movement Reduces Stress

I also have to tell you that your body was meant to move. Becoming a couch potato is just going to aggravate your stress. And probably spending too much time on social media and other things like world news will increase your stress.

Try to incorporate activities that allow you to feel peaceful and calm into your day to day life.

Finger Squeezing: A Quick Meridian Stimulation Technique

I’m gonna show you a really simple simple activity that will help you support your well-being in your body. It’s just squeezing your fingers, squeezing your fingers, just a little bit. This stimulates your meridians, and your energy throughout your body.

It’s easy, easy to do and very quick. So I highly suggest this one. And you can even if you’re taking a bath, squeeze your toes.

Know that the body is meant to move and you are meant to move if you want to alleviate stress!

Stop Putting Pressure on Yourself to Be Perfect

Learn how to not put too much pressure on yourself. We all want to be perfect at what we do, but it Perfection Perfection is the enemy of good. This is what I’ve learned and I have possibly lived a little longer than you.

In fact, I had an illness that ended my dance career, a dance career that had me getting the plum jobs in Toronto and good reviews in the New York Times. I was on my way and stress just hit it. I put a lot too much pressure on myself. And then, I was very, very lucky, and what happened for me was when they finally diagnosed it the medical people forgot to tell me it was incurable, so I got well.

I share all the ways. To get well that I used, I use these therapeutic tools that are gentle and light touch. Might be something you would be interested in at some point. If you’re ready to go further, explore my deeper stress release approach and see what’s possible for you.

Shift Your Perspective: You Are Not Your Thoughts

I know that there’s a pathway for you. There’s definitely one that will work for you. As you change your perspective, And changing your your perspective is not just a mind trip. Changing your perspective is becoming aware that you are not even your thoughts.

You have thoughts. But you are the consciousness that is aware of those thoughts. Put it all together. Don’t put pressure on yourself. Begin to choose your priorities because if you’re doing everything, you you are not doing one thing at a time. Taking one step at a time will help if you heal, one little step at a time. You will feel more relaxed, more at ease, and have a really wonderful life.

I support you in being your best, your best friend, your best person. I also support that you get support from your friends and your family. And nurturing what’s really of value to you, that warm feeling in your heart.

So with that, I’m Kyra, creator of Body Being & Heart, Healing for Body and Spirit, and I leave you….De-Stress & Enlighten

Take care.
