Recently two young women came to see me. One was on medication which wasn’t working for anxiety. The other was not on medication but suffering from anxiety and perhaps a bit of disassociation from her body. What to do. The one, not on medication, after just two or three sessions is essentially well.
The other did not have the resources to come for sessions. Though, I have offered practical advice like getting moving, even if it is just for a walk around the block plus my Wise Women Stress Mastery videos.
Unfortunately, I am not government funded. Though I am not charging 2 arms and a leg for sessions, my work is still unavailable for many people. Some think it is woo, woo, whereas it is in fact skillful interventions which require a modicum of body intelligence.
I never became an osteopath; I wanted a more inclusive training. But I use osteopathic techniques and advanced CranioSacral Therapy approaches as well as being extremely versed in somatic education having trained with Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais and Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen’s Body-Mind Centering. I am a practitioner and teacher of Bonnie’s work and an authorized teacher of Feldenkrais Awareness through Movement.
Of course, I was a dancer and choreographer before the illness I mentioned earlier. I have a B.A. and M.A in Dance from U.C.L.A. where I had the good fortune of having Valerie Hunt as a professor of anatomy. She tested healers and psychics in a black box experiment which proved their powers to be effective. She measured the human bioelectric field. Yes, we really are all energy.
My career did not start or end there. Currently I assist Dr. Ken Koles, acupuncturist extraordinaire, at both his Upledger Institute courses and his very own Frequencies and Vibrations courses for distant healing. Less means more Beauty!
Beauty is as beauty does, plus your DNA. Less is always more as you get older. In fact, it is ridiculous to see young women wearing a ton of makeup. But since my mother performed on Broadway and wore pancake makeup till her dying day, I have to say I like to wear a little blush on and mascara, oh and a bit of lip gloss…okay just a little eye liner. Little is the operative word. After all a girl’s got to do what a girl has to do…wink wink!
It is always surprising but every couple of weeks someone tells me how beautiful I am. It is not just that little bit of makeup, it is my healthy glow and you can have this too! It is simply not necessary that you are sick and have chronic conditions there is a way out. Up to You!
