How to heal…anything is both complex and very simple. Let’s start with ‘How to Stay Healthy.’ And your mom probably taught you lots. What you need to know is your body is working for You! It is always attempting to stay in balance. This is called homeostasis.
So, eat well, organic if you can. Sleep well, 7-8 hours at least. A teenager may sleep longer. Those of you who sleep only 4-5 hours almost always burn out eventually and get really sick. In Chinese medicine, it is called “burning up your ancestral Chi energy.” You can rebuild. Life is so generous!
Move, your body was meant to move, so whether it is sports or dance, yoga or the gym, do something you love. And speaking about LOVE, remember you are Love! Starting with root chakra grounding techniques can be a powerful first step in building that physical and energetic foundation.
It also helps to have a sense of your essential self, your spirit. Do follow the path it reveals. And a spiritual teacher of mine once said, when I told him I had always had a sense of purpose, he said, “The illusion of purpose.” Still, it helps to have a sense of what you want and like to do. Always remember to have compassion for yourself and others. These are the Body Being & Heart basics of wellness.
How to Heal
Healing or rebalancing is needed when you are out of balance and do not feel well. The basics of how to heal are slowing down, tuning into what is needed, and providing the “what”. Pretty simple, eh!
You will know, or those around you will, to call 911 if you are having a medical emergency. Most imbalances slip in slowly. Accidents and trauma happen fast. Even if you have had a medical emergency, you can find a natural, drug-free approach to help you heal.
Natural approaches to healing involve finding a therapist/healer to support your body in coming into balance/homeostasis. One such approach worth exploring is Reiki as natural healing, which works gently with your body’s own energy to restore its balance. If you have a chronic condition, depending on its severity, it may take time and repeated sessions.
Your body may need to learn to maintain better balance, which requires persistence over time.
If you have an injury, you need to slow down to allow your own body’s healing process to take effect. You may want to have a therapist, aka a coach, to help the process go faster.
Trauma
Trauma, whether physical or emotional, does not suddenly disappear. It may even run your life unconsciously. Your body records everything.
What to Do?
What exactly you need changes over time. How to heal means being age-appropriate. So, no, I am not going to jump as high as a grand piano as I did in my twenties. But the key to the ‘How to Heal’ everything is being compassionate and persistent over time.
Remember to talk with your body. You are not your body. You are the consciousness that inhabits it. But if you have no body, you will not experience consciousness on this plane of existence. So, keep your body well. You may even want to take a few vitamins or supplements.
